Organically growth: The era of collaboration instead of competition

On this fragmented world, you can’t venture with individual effort because market is not home for lone geniuses anymore. It affects behavior of leaders and organizations to face complex obstacles nowadays. This way of thinking is beginning to align more and more with the way people want to build enterprises. Ben Hecht explained in Harvard Business Review, by 2020, millennials will make up half full of the workforce, and 88 percent of them currently say they prefer an work environment that is collaborative.
Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia face massive competition, ranging from giant global corporates and established market leaders to innovative entrepreneurs working out of their own spaces then creates opportunities. Sometimes it is the art of collaboration that gives SMEs a strategic advantage in a competitive marketplace. Although, competition itself generates higher levels of service, better-quality products and new marketing strategies. However, I do believe, it will significantly contribute to long-term global economic growth. But at the same time, competition is nothing without collaboration and your businesses’ competitive advantage can be significantly enhanced with a collaborative approach. Collaboration, among business leaders, allows enterprises to create synergies, working together to generate game-changing business ideas and ground-breaking concepts. My personal understanding is that collaboration (with a small dose of competition) can be the compass in navigating the way through a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous economic changing.
The rapid growth of collaborative impact and the building of new civic infrastructures around the country are the most promising approaches to tackle these issues. To create health collaboration relationship between enterprises, steps as follow:
Collaboration starts with a conversation to clearly define what you can do together, start thinking beyond individual projects to whole solutions, big, bold and crisp ideas.
The complex, multidisciplinary problems that many collaborative projects tackle do not have easy fixes. These challenges require continuous learning and innovation and the use of real-time data to help participants understand what is and isn’t working. However there are enterprises that can offer services which sits alongside yours and allows added value process between entities. For example, a web developer could join forces with clothing businesses allowing them to transfer benefit for each businesses.
A collaborative partnership is about win-win actions. You will need to be transparent with things like organization goals, working together to secure new projects and expand those already in existence. It’s vital that you continue to discuss and agree joint objectives as things move forward to ensure the partnership remains mutually beneficial.

Both of you and your collaborator have an obligation to share what you learn. The value would be replicable if members successfully learning and working together.
Me personally predict that collaboration will be one of the major slogans in marketplace within next few years. Collaboration will go far beyond and improving communication between functions and generating opportunities to innovate across the business. I am more convinced than ever that collaboration across institutional and disciplinary boundaries is the path forward for gain a success organically. There is no need for us to reinvent the wheel, because nothing new under the sun. Good luck.
